Cheetah and Dog: Best of Friends?

Wow, that’s just a truly one-of-a-kind friendship.

A male cheetah cub and a female yellow lab, who were put together when the cheetah was 8 weeks old and the dog 16 weeks old, celebrated their first anniversary together at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The pair, later named Kasi and Mtani, immediately struck up a bond that would last a lifetime. Even though the anniversary was a while back, it is now a couple years later and their friendship is still going strong, according to Busch Gardens who provides updates on the pair.

Now a lot of people might be skeptical, but actually the two animals have very similar social characteristics. Their personalities directly complement each other, and they always spend long hours just playing and hanging out together. Since their first encounter, they’ve earned somewhat of a celebrity status, if that exists for animals.

Well, at least the cheetah is better than those common, nasty house cats, right?

Your Dog Will Learn the “Give Paw” Trick in No Time!

Ever wonder how on earth people train their dogs to “shake hands?”

Well this video is perfect for you! Whether you are a novice at teaching your dog tricks or you even if you just could never teach that puppy to obey, this clip will surely help you take the first step towards dog trick mastery. Basically, this video lesson tells you to take everything in baby steps and to let your dog do its own movements.

For example, hold a fist full of dog treats in one hand, just above his/her nose, and wait any type of paw movement or reaction. If the dog finally uses its paw instead of just its mouth to try to get to the treats, then reward him and compliment him. This positive reinforcement builds a sort of “memory” into his/her head, and he will learn to associate the given order with pleasing his master as well as maybe some treats, thus facilitating the entire learning process.

The Taming of the Dog

The Dog Whisperer is back again with one of the best episodes yet!

In this video we are shown a condensed version of the clip, in which he has to attempt the uncaging of a vicious, aggressive 35 lb dog. It starts out hectic, as the dog senses unfamiliarity and thrashes around in the barking loudly. The awesomely calm and pro Cesar immediately puts his arms around the cage, signifying dominance and confidence that the cage will protect him from any of the dog’s attacks.

He then grabs the door, and once the dog sees that he has the power to unlock freedom or keep the door stationary it reluctantly sits in obedience and submission. After a couple more tries Cesar finally lets Cotton the dog out and it is amazingly calm and harmless.
This is safe to try at home with the protection of a cage and a leash, but caution still must be taken with situations and dogs like these.
